A lovely, warm story infused with
sinister droplets of misery. “Outside Ascension,” illuminates layers of overlapping
dimensions that could actually exist.
The fictional presentation of the alternate universe in this novel is complex
as well as reasonable, creating a very credible story. As a lovely bonus, the author
narrates the audiobook so you can be certain that you’re hearing every sentence
with every inflexion as it was intended to be absorbed.
Amy Proebstel also manages to thrust
a handful of melancholy moments into the otherwise playful story, which deepens
the curious exploration of the other dimension into a stronger novel.
Highlights!
Detail: a whole lot of detail has
obviously gone into every facet of this story from the invented customs to the
imagined social interactions within the parallel universe.
Author’s narration: It’s very
gratifying to be read the novel by the person who wrote it.
