Sailing and Another Dimension in Outside Ascension

Outside Ascension by Amy Proebstel (audiobook)

A lovely, warm story infused with sinister droplets of misery. “Outside Ascension,” illuminates layers of overlapping dimensions that could actually exist. The fictional presentation of the alternate universe in this novel is complex as well as reasonable, creating a very credible story. As a lovely bonus, the author narrates the audiobook so you can be certain that you’re hearing every sentence with every inflexion as it was intended to be absorbed.
Amy Proebstel also manages to thrust a handful of melancholy moments into the otherwise playful story, which deepens the curious exploration of the other dimension into a stronger novel.
Highlights!

Detail: a whole lot of detail has obviously gone into every facet of this story from the invented customs to the imagined social interactions within the parallel universe.

Author’s narration: It’s very gratifying to be read the novel by the person who wrote it.

Credibility: This could happen.

What is The Borman Factor?

The Borman Factor by Robert Lalonde

What is the Borman Factor? RESEARCH! Hooray! This might sound bland, but the thrills and gunfights of Robert Lalonde’s novel will have you believing in the validity of the story. From the spheres of politics to the explanations of tactical weaponry, “The Borman Factor,” actually feels like a memory that an expert storyteller is reciting. Of course, with politics and weapons come assassination and, in this case, corporate espionage.
Do you have much experience with corporate espionage? Don’t worry if you don’t because this credible, valid novel of lies and bullets will feel like an education with a few extra murders.

Highlights!

Believability: Do I need to thrash this point any harder?

Espionage: The immense level of distrust and deception in this novel contributes to a delightful milieu of suspense.

Setting: For something a little different, this is a Canadian thriller.

A Dead End to Enjoy

Dead End by Gerald W. Darnell

Wow! What a great read. “Dead End,” throws the reader back in time to the 1960s to follow the wild and unpredictable adventures of Carson Reno, private detective. Through a complex and exciting story, Gerald W. Darnell manages to illuminate the debaucherous cunning of classic gangsters as well as the dedicated heroics of the people hired to catch these crooks. The opening is enthralling, and the ending is unforgettable; definitely grab a copy today.
Darnell also asserts the fact that his Carnon Reno books are all PG rated, so feel free to pass them on to the young ones.

Highlights!

Chase scenes: there are too few car chases in thrillers these days, but “Dead End,” delivers all the twisted metal and nervous speed you can handle.

Side characters: the extra folks in this book are multifaceted and compelling.

Series: this seems like a strange positive note, but “Dead End,” is the thirteenth book in the “Carson Reno,” series. Thirteen novels and still awesome is a massive achievement.
